Cafe Del Mar: Terrace Mix 3
2014 release, the third installment in the Cafe Del Mar Terrace Mix series Toni Simonen's entry offers a mesmerizing mélange of rhythms, timbres and tunes, with 13 exclusive tracks from the leading names in Down tempo. It combines an aesthetically accomplished sound with extensive production know-how, creating state-of-the-art sound design in a lively groove. New material from Moby, 'A Long Time' has an insistent, kind of dejected chug, and it brings US one of his most powerful works in several years. Some mighty fine Down tempo on display from Kinobe, in the sleazy listening classic 'The Green Piano'. Cool atmospheres with jittery percussion from Afterlife, while Andy Cato opening track 'Palermo by Night' reveals a true instinct for compositional structure and catchy hooks that gives him the edge and warmth to appeal to a wide audience. Terrace Mix 3, a must-hear, outstanding collection from Cafe Del Mar.
